this project consisted of a high quality ground floor extension to a private victorian residence. the brief asked for the kitchen area to be expanded and completely refurbished with the addition of a utility room and garden landscaping. the client also requested that the kitchen be opened up to the dining area to allow for social interaction between these two spaces and to emphasise the kitchen as the 'heart' of the home. extensive negotiations with the planning department were required as the property had been previously extensively extended and had used up all of its permitted development area.
