tamsin took the lead role in the development of this new campus for kidderminster college, from the feasibility stage to beyond riba stage c. the scheme, providing vocational courses plus a community sports hall, needed to be laid out so that the public areas could be opened and managed during the evenings and at weekends whilst the rest of the building remained secure. a large change in level at the rear of the site also allowed for the opportunity to minimise the visual height and mass of the sports hall. the project was being funded by the learning skills council, (lsc), under the approval in principle route. tamsin worked closely with the client's educational consultant and also liaised closely with the planning department, particularly with regard to the environmental and ecological sensitivity of the site. she quickly forged a close relationship with both the client and the other members of the design team and led several presentations to the college governors and local community.
